When you leave your family everyday on your way to work, or you want to have a long vacation in another town or country, or when you simply put all the lights off at night, you certainly want to have peace of mind with a belief that home is safe from bad elements like intruders, burglars and thieves.
Installing a home security system will surely give you the peace of mind you’ve always wanted when you leave your house. This can be done by yourself if you want to. You will need to buy motion sensors which you attach to doors and windows and when it is tampered when the door or window is opened, an alarm will sound. Motion sensors send infra red or microwaves which detects intrusion by determining the bounces off waves and then triggering the alarm signals.
While the motion sensor is the most common and effective way to secure the home, problems with false alarms come up when there are pets indoor.
An alternative would be the use of noise detectors instead of motion detectors. Noise detectors trigger sounding the alarm at the breaking of any glass or any other loud movements.
The surface door and window contact is another perfect alternative. These tiny gadgets are attached to the edges of closed door or window. When someone opens suspiciously a night, the contacts lose and send a trigger to the alarm.
You may also consider having outdoor security system. Motion sensors can be placed outside and when triggered by suspicious movements, the alarm will sound off or a floodlight will light the source of the movement. But although this can be false-alarm proof from indoor pets, they may still be exposed to outside animals.
There are also more expensive types of motion sensors which claim to be pet proof. These pet sensitive sensors can sense the size of the moving object and conclude it to be a non-person.
Installing a surveillance video camera security system, although relatively expensive, can be very efficient and practical and very pet false-alarm proof. These cameras may be wired to a main controller or wirelessly connected. Most surveillance cameras have video recorders for easy playback and identification of any intruder.
There are also newer and more expensive types of gadgets you can include in your home security system such as biometric fingerprint locks, night watch video surveillance systems among others. Some of these home securities systems can even be monitored remote via a secure connection on the internet. This is very useful especially when the family travels to a far place but still want to know what is going on around their house.
